You don’t need an old house with old single-paned windows to let the cold air creep inside your house. Even newer homes with better windows are not totally effective during such freezing temps.
So what to do? How can you save a few bucks and insulate at the same time?
Enter today’s Quick Tip Friday.
The answer, my friends, is bubble wrap. A single pane window has the R value of less than 1. By placing bubble wrap on your window, you will bump your R value to 2. This will cut the heat loss from you window by half, and will save you a little money in the end.
Putting bubble wrap on your window is easy. You will need a spray bottle, an x-acto knife, and some bubble wrap. Push the bubble side of the wrap against the window. The water will hold the bubble wrap to the window all winter long, and will not stain. Use the x-acto knife to cut away the excess.
Now that’s a wrap.
Enjoy today’s Quick Tip Friday!

I have so much bubble wrap! Maybe I’m throwing away money by not using it this way!
