Here are 2 quick and easy Thanksgiving appetizers that can be made right now. They’re crowd pleasers and can be served at every party.
The week leading up to Thanksgiving is always full of activity and things to be done, yet I thrive on the busyness. I love it; my lists are made and I’m checking things off at my own pace with true satisfaction. But things this year are just a little bit different.
Our oldest has been away at college and flying home for the Thanksgiving break.
I’ve missed Mac so much. I have marveled at how I can be so very proud of him and his whole college experience so far, yet feeling the void of him not being under my wing right here, almost makes me ache. How can I smile so big, yet have a tear holding on to the corner of my eye? It’s all a process, I tell myself.
Ahh, the life of a parent.
But throughout the stress, I find such comfort in all of the Thanksgiving prep. I get into my own little zone, put on some jazz, and start cooking. Anything and everything that I can make ahead, I do. I’m in my element and this year especially, it takes my mind off of getting my sweet boy home for Thanksgiving break.
I always make a few appetizers to munch on between breakfast and the big dinner. Little bites that I can put out around noon to peck at until we sit down around 5ish, or whenever. We never like to set a time to eat because we love the relaxed, we’ll-eat-when-it’s-ready-type-vibe.
Two appetizers that I make ahead every year, are my Savory Sausage Bites With Cranberry Mustard Dipping Sauce and Spinach Poppers. Both are loved by all and are delicious served warm or at room temperature.
Although I make these apps throughout the year, they have become Thanksgiving staples, and if I didn’t make them, I’d get some serious side eye.
