Of course Thanksgiving dinner is a favorite holiday feast by many, but I think the leftovers are up there in honorable mentions.
The turkey sandwich is probably rated the #1 leftover by most, and everyone has their own tasty version and technique in making the best one, but what about other ideas?
I have a couple turkey leftover ideas here for you today, that you will love!
First, try my Bar-B-Que Turkey and Arugula pizza. It’s quick. It’s easy-breezy. And it’s reeeaaaalllllyy good.
Just take some cranberry sauce and heat it up with some chili sauce to make the BBQ sauce. Spread a little sauce over a slice of flat bread. Dice up some leftover turkey, put in a bowl and add some BBQ sauce to coat. Shred some smoked gouda cheese (or whichever cheese you prefer) and bake in a 350 degree oven until cheese is bubbly and crust is crispy around the edges. Transfer to a plate, and top with a handful of arugula. Then serve and devour. Delish. You can find the recipe here.
Second, how about a Turkey Pate minus the liver? I’m not a fan of any kind of liver, but I wanted to make something with that consistency. So I took some leftover turkey, diced it up; added it to a skillet with a little butter. Cooked until heated through. Added some garlic and cooked for another minute. Then added some cashews, stirred them around. Took the mixture off heat to cool. Once cooled, I put the mixture in the food processor along with mayo, sage, and asiago cheese. And pulsed until I couldn’t stand hearing the noise anymore. About 3 solid minutes. And presto. This stuff is sooooo good. Spread it on crackers or party toasts, and you’re good to go. You can find the recipe here.
Give these two recipes a try. Both dishes are great shout-outs to the turkey.
