Tis the time of the year for Easter egg hunts, deviled eggs and egg salad sandwiches. And there is something so unsightly about that grey film on the hard-boiled egg yolk, which develops because the egg has not been cooked correctly.
Here is your Quick Tip Friday: How to perfectly cook a hard boiled egg.
Place eggs in a saucepan and pour with enough water to cover them.
Bring water to a boil and immediately turn off the heat. Let eggs sit in the pan for 15 minutes.
Drain the eggs. If using them right away, let them sit for about 5 minutes, or until cool enough to handle. Otherwise, they can be stored in the fridge for up to 8 days.
