Recently our children’s Pediatrician’s office relocated to a new space, and asked me to put my Be Fed Again touch on three exam rooms.
They didn’t want anything fancy — just kid-friendly.
I was honored, and happy to think about what I wanted to design.
So I thought shapes painted in bold colors would be my best bet. And two of the three rooms got the shape treatment.
Big shapes. Huge circle. An easy design with a lot of punch.
And for the third room, I decided to paint a zig zag around the entire room.
I bought the chevron cut Frog tape, and taped out the room. I used a level and tape measure to keep everything straight and even. This was pretty time-consuming, but it was the only way to get it right.
Painted over the tape. All was going well. Of course, listening to my coveted 80’s playlist on my iPad, jamming out to Flock of Seagulls.
Then I removed the tape, and things got tedious.
I wanted to paint between the zig zags in blue. A job that required this little bitty brush.
And when I started painting, I realized that the majority of the songs that I was listening to had a “run away” theme. And I thought to myself, is this playlist trying to tell me something?
But I stuck it out. And painted with that little bitty brush, two coats; twice around.
It paid off. This room looks great, and is my favorite out of the three.
And the past two nights, I’ve been dreaming in zig zag…..

This is so creative! Going to the doctor is not always fun but having an exam room like this would totally cheer me up!

Oh wow. This is amazing. My wife and I wanted to do something similar for our daughter’s room, but we keep messing up the color scheme and then we bleed the paint over into the other color. It’s full on amateur hour over here. Maybe we can borrow your expertise to come and paint our nursery 😉
