Cutting a whole chicken into pieces can be daunting. But I am here to show you the easiest way, and frankly the most natural way to cut up a chicken.
The answer: Scissors!
I say most natural because if you think about it, you learned how to use scissors in your toddler years. And, I dare say you’ve known how to use scissors a lot longer than you’ve know how to use a large professional knife.
Enter today’s Quick Tip Friday.
Let’s let the scissors do the talking and cut up a chicken.
To start, lay wax paper down on your work surface.
Lay the chicken breast side down and cut along the back bone to cut it out. Flip the chicken over and press down to flatten the chicken. Cut along the breast bone bringing the chicken into 2 pieces. Then cut between the legs and the wings on both sides.
Done.
Easy breezy.
Be sure and use all precautionary measures when handling raw chicken. Wash your hands with soap and water, and clean your station after you’re done.
