Continuing work on my porches, I worked on the kitchen porch today, It’s relatively small, but very valuable just the same.
Of course there is seating on this porch, but it’s also home to my herb garden.
That’s right. Just a few steps from my kitchen prep table is my huge pot-o-herbs.
As life these days is all about convenience, having a small herb garden just outside the kitchen is key for me.
The pot that I plant the herbs in is large, so I filled it about half way with these styrofoam peanuts to cut down on both weight and dirt.
Then, I filled in the rest with dirt and started planting.
My go-to herbs: parsley, basil, thyme, chives, tarragon, sage and rosemary.
And presto! Herbs at the ready. And a catch-y kitchen porch to boot.
