Remember this post where I showed you how to make a grosgrain ribbon shower curtain? It turned out great, and I admired my work each time I went into the kids’ bathroom. But really, my admiration only lasted a couple days. By then, the ribbons started falling off. The ole hot glue gun wasn’t the answer to this project.
Very carefully, as the ribbons fell, we added them to the started pile on the chair outside the bathroom. And the pile grew.
And the fierce grosgrain ribbon shower curtain was looking pretty sparse.
I thought about it and my only solution was to hand stitch the ribbon back onto the shower curtain, and reinforce the ribbon still barely attached.
Bottom line, I had to perform plastic surgery to the shower curtain.
No probs. I found my heavy gauge needle, some black embroidery floss, and a few ounces of patience and got started hand-stitching. And I kept stitching, stitching, stitching, until all the ribbon was stitched onto the shower curtain.
Now this should hold. The curtain is back up, and back in the New York groove. Or maybe I should say the Fedigan groove.
I think I’m safe to say the plastic surgery was a success.
