Every year we go apple picking, and every year we come home with waayyyy too many apples. With some of this year’s crop, I made these. And I made this goodness. And I even made this drink. Yet, I still had a lot of apples left to eat.
Enter today’s Quick Tip Friday!
So the leftover apples wouldn’t go to waste, I decided to prepare apple pie filling and then freeze the filling for a future use.
I peeled, cored, and cut the apples into bite-size pieces. I added the lemon juice, sugar, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg and mixed it all together. Then I put the apple pie filling into a freezer bag.
And just like that, I can pull the apple pie filling out of the freezer, defrost it, and make an apple pie in no time at all. And not a single apple goes to waste. Apple pie at the ready!
Enjoy today’s Quick Tip Friday!

We have two apple trees in our backyard, and they overwhelm us every year. I know, it’s a good problem to have! Thanks for the tip. It’s a reminder that using apples isn’t hard. It’s just a matter of making time. Enjoy those nummy pies.
