Behind The Music – Be Fed Again

When Super Bowl time rolls around, I like for Be Fed Again to get in on the action.

I like to shoot videos showing what Be Fed Again is all about.  My mission, if you will.  I want to show a few projects, touch on cooking, and let my personality come through.  I want these videos to be on the funny side.

This year, since Katy Perry was the half time performer, I wanted my video be to a Katy Perry song, but Be Fed Again style.

Enter ‘Firework,’ aka ‘Fed Again.’

Sometimes, some of my most creative thoughts happen either in the shower or while I’m driving.  Don’t ask me why.  But somewhere between shampoo and cream rinse, “Cuz baby I am Fed Again…” popped into my head, and that’s how this year’s video got started.

I sat down at my lap top, checked out Katy’s lyrics and then wrote my own.  I wanted to encompass everything in less than a minute.  Then the thought of me wearing a nice dress and pearls, with a tool belt filled with carefully selected items such as tools, wooden spoons, and even my favorite candy, twizzlers, at the same time showing me working on a project, came to mind. This is how I could show everything, quickly.  And, it’s funny.  It shows that I love what I do, and I have a ton of fun while doing it.

But there was a huge problem.  I cannot carry a tune to save my life.  This is true.  Not even a single note.  Someone would need to sing this for me and I knew it had to be Kelly Kinsella.  Kelly works with Sean on Jersey Boys.  She is hysterical, and crazy, and has some of the best verve someone could ever have.  And when Sean asked her if she would be a part of my video, she jumped on it.

Once Kelly’s voice was recorded, Sean asked his friend Rafe Carlotto, who is a sound mixer on Broadway, to clean up the sound.  Here he is mixing sound for my video:

Sean did all of the video editing for me.  In fact, he put together the entire video.  And he did a great job!  I am so grateful.

This video accomplishes everything I wanted it to.  It touches on everything my beloved blog covers, with a light and funny flair.  It brings levity and humility to Be Fed Again.
