Now that all of my garden plants have been planted in the ground, our garden is on the up and up.
Literally.
Check out these sugar snap peas.
That’s going to be a big crop. We also seem to have had a huge early crop of weeds. It was like I saw a weed or two one evening, and then the next morning it was weed pandemonium. Typical I know, but holy crow!!
I dedicated one day to weeding, then ordered a few yards of mulch to try to keep the weed population under control. Still, even with mulch, I’ll have some stragglers.
I planted the tomato plants the very day they came in the mail. Already, they have grown a few inches and a couple plants have blooms. I so cannot wait to make this sandwich!
We eat a lot of edamame around here, and I’m psyched to grow it this year. Looking pretty healthy so far. Green beans are coming along as well.
And check out the cucumbers. Last year’s crop was a plenty, and since we eat cukes on a daily basis, growing them again was a must. A couple blooms have appeared on one of the plants this morning. Of course I’ll make a few jars of these!
Hopefully in another month, we’ll be able to start harvesting some of the fruits of our labor. Until then, I will continue to water and nurture our garden, and try to win my fight against the weeds!
