Father’s Day was a high caloric day around here yesterday.
Seriously!
It doesn’t take much to make Sean happy. He’s very easy-going. Outside of spending valuable time with his kids, he loves sports, eggs benedict, and chocolate.
So Father’s Day was all about golf balls and a serious grocery list.
I made eggs benedict for breakfast. For an easy hollandaise recipe, click here.
And with the kids’ help, we decided to make Sean a dessert platter with a few of his favorite chocolate desserts.
We’re talking decadent, rich, over-the-top chocolate-y deliciousness.
We started by making Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ice Cream. Click here for the recipe.
Followed by Chocolate Bread Pudding. Click here for the recipe.
Then, of course, we had to make his very favorite, The Be Fed Brownie. Click here for the recipe.
So just in case you’re curious, to prepare all foods consumed yesterday, I used 26 eggs, 1 1/2 quarts heavy cream, 1 pound of butter, 3/4 pound bitter sweet chocolate and 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips. Toss in some whole milk and carb-stuffed bread and some ham, then that is roughly the list.
What do they say? …”three seconds to the lips; three pounds to the hips.”
I don’t regret one single bite. And by the look on Sean’s face when he was eating everything, he loved every bite as well.
