I’m a day dreamer.
Always have been.
My parents and my sister always have their noses in a book. But for me, I prefer to stare out a window and ponder. I do read some, but I am a slow reader and my mind tends to wander.
Ponder about what, I’m not always sure, but more often than not, it’s about details.
Certainly, home projects are ever-present in my mind, but oddly enough, I find a sense of calm thinking about going a step ahead – what I can do that is on trend, yet a little above the curve. How can I fulfill my Tiffany taste on a Goodwill budget. And, it’s not that easy, yet I seek the challenge.
I take full advantage of the summer months with the early sunrises and warmer morning temperatures. The quiet and stillness of the morning is where I draw inspiration. I make my coffee, then often times take a walk around our yard and let the cool wet grass kiss my ankles.
This morning I passed by the lilac bushes and stopped at the sight of our picnic table. Its home is on an open lawn behind our garden. I got to thinking about how lovely it would be to dress her up with detail. Some pretty dishes. Some sterling silver. A classy sophistication with nature.
And with that day dream, an outcome was a beautiful table setting, dressed with china, silver and a piece of fabric, all of which we had on hand.
It’s dreamy morning walks like these where inspiration is found. Details drawn from nature and not in a book.
Gorgeous! Simply Gorgeous! I love that plate. I need a tea cup and saucer with that pattern on it.
