Every once in a while I lose my mojo. Not sure where it goes, and it’s never gone for long, but it’s times like these that I need to give in and allow myself a break.
Sometimes my gumption teeters and my fingers turn paralyzed on the keyboard, but one thing that stays ever present in my mind is food.
Naturally.
So during my break of tearing down walls, and constructing a headboard, I turned to creating a fun and themed super bowl menu for the big game.
Carolina Panthers and Denver Brocos, here we go. Carolina Bar-B-Que and Mile High Lemon Meringue Pies, far from status quo. Super bowl food is not for the dainty; a hearty sandwich is what is preferred around here. Carolina Bar-B-Que seemed only fitting, and this week, I mastered my version of the not-too-saucy BBQ.
Slow cooked for 12 hours, we’re talking tender and flavorful to the core. Served on a brioche bun with extra sauce on the side, after just one bite, you’ll be shouting AMEN! And, don’t forget the napkins! Caroline Bar-B-Que recipe found here.
The mile high city needed to be honored with Mile High Lemon Meringue Pies. These mini pies pack a huge punch against the hearty sandwich.
These sweet and tangy and full of lemon flavor pies may be on the small size but are tall on flavor. Load on the meringue extra depth and you too will be running for a touchdown! Mile High Lemon Meringue Pie(s) recipe found here.
Of course, I’ll be cooking up our annual super bowl favorites, like the Be Fed Buffalo Wings (recipe found here), and Beer Cheese Soup (recipe found here), all accompanied by the Manmosa (recipe found here).
Good luck to whichever team you are rooting for. You must make these recipes for your Super Bowl 50 experience!! You and your guests will be so happy that you did!
Just looking at these pictures makes my mouth water! I love how you put menus together and have so much passion when it comes to cooking. I bet everything tasted amazing. Things cooked with love usually do. Glad you’re back…I’ve missed you. Hugs, Coco
