Are your hands dry? Are your elbows rough and cracking? How about your feet? Here is the best way to soothe dry cracked hands.
One thing that I tend to hide when I’m around others, are my hands. I’ve been like this my whole life, mainly because they’re always dry. I swam competitively, so the chlorine didn’t help the sitch, and now that I’m always up to my elbows in DIY projects, my hands tend to look 20 years older than I am personally. Fuhgeddaboudit if there’s a hangnail in the balance that is begging to be picked.
Sigh.
And the feet. Growing up I never wore shoes. Ever. I loved going barefoot and was totally proud of the fact that the bottom of my feet resembled leather. But now? My feet are so ticklish that I never ever go barefoot. I can’t even get a pedicure without an uncomfortable knee-jerk reaction. I pretty much have to skip the fanfare and go straight to the polish. I’m a mess. I’m a dry hands, elbows and feet mess.
Or at least I was…..
Finally I had enough. I got to the point where I couldn’t hide my hands anymore, and I was tired of them hurting from being so dry.
I did some DIY remedies. I coated my hands and feet with thick lotions and ointments, and slept in socks on both my hands and my feet. Finding this was a temporary fix, I was always lead back to square one.
So I kept looking for remedies. Until…until I started thinking about this small contraption that is used in the nail salon/spa.
If only I could have access to this gizmo at home.
Turns out, I do. And so does everyone else that is a Prime member of Amazon.
Meet the answer to our prayers! The Parafin Wax soaker!
My BFF can do us right! Warm up the wax that he’s housing, and then dunk in your hand, elbow or foot. Wait about 15 seconds and then go in for another dunk. Hang out for a while to let the wax dry, and then peel it off.
And just like that, your hands, elbows or feet feel like buttah!!
Le’t not make this more difficult than it is.
Best Way To Soothe Dry Cracked Hands, Feet and Elbows.
This parafin contraption has always there for me, waiting for me to sink my hands into the waxy warmth! Y’all, let me just tell you, this thing is seriously the bees knees! Not only does it work beautifully, it is exquisitely warm and just plain wonderful…like a big old warm hug! I promise you will feel like you are in HEAVEN!!!!!
Though his name isn’t really Mr. Parafin (hello Captain Obvious) this little guy works wonders. Don’t let the pink top fool you! This thing has serious street cred with the guys, too. Both Sean and Mac are fans, dunking their appendages into the warm wax.
Here’s how it works: warm up the wax and then dunk in the hand, foot or elbow. Let the wax cool and then dunk again. Let cool yet again and then peel the cooled wax off, which is unbelievably satisfying. Feel your skin and you’re brought back to that 70’s Palmolive commercial where Madge points out that your hands are “soaking in it.” Wicked soft and no more chapping.
My elbows have never been so happy and the heels of my feet are like those of a newborn baby. Seriously.
Let’s see how far we can push to be completely inspired in the garden, and then follow up all the dry-ridden hands with some deep healing parafin wax. Because really, y’all, I’ve done the research for you. This little machine that melts wax is the answer to all of our dry, cracked skin prayers. A couple dunks in this a couple times a week, and the appendages will be just like new.
I’ve done the research for you. This wax-warming, hand-dunking, machine works.
You’re welcome.

As I speak almost every finger has hangnails with brittle nails. You nudged my memory. I have one of those devices….buried in my garage. Will dig it out, buy more wax and have myself a spa experience. Thank you for posting this sweet niece. Love you
