Now that gardening season is among us and everyone is potting plants, I have the BEST quick tip that will make your life so much easier, using an item from your kitchen! Are you ready for this quickest-potting-plant-game changer-tip?! Here goes!
Have you ever heard of a place called Dauphin Island, Alabama? It’s a wonderful little island where we used to always visit when I was growing up.
I’ve got a fun story about this small beach town, that leads to a gorgeous DIY of designing a custom oyster plate. Even if you don’t like oysters, these plates are so gorgeous, you’ll want to hang them on your walls!
Give me an excuse, any excuse, to design a table setting and I’ll take it. I’m all in. I learned this from my sweet Mama. Days out of a holiday, she would set a gorgeous table, tweaking here and there along the way. I loved watching her and took in all of her advice and ideas just like a sponge. All of her joy in designing a pretty table setting rubbed off on me, and here I am, never letting a table lay naked. Always dressed with a modern mix of plates and linens, with lots of play on patterns. Sometimes the table is just on display; still, it’s decorated one way or another, with Mama deep in my heart.
Are you ready to get inspired? Let’s go create!!
For as long as I hoped, planned and designed my garden house, now that it is built, I have made up for that ten fold as far as time well spent. I’m grateful for it and all that, of course, but it has truly become my go-to place to think about ideas and just do everything associated with the true premise of the garden house. Pot and plant, entertain, and yes, escape. My respite.
Spring is the season of new life and loads of inspiration. I have an inspiring spring tour of my garden house plus a video of you.
Come on in y’all and join me for a spring tour of Brooke’s Garden House!!
Is it just me, or does March seem like a realllllly long month? It almost seems like a confused month: one that keeps holding on to winter, and one that is itching for spring to arrive along with warmer temps. No leaves on the trees yet, but certainly the promise of buds. It’s this sight that gets me jazzed and after what seems like a year long winter, I’m ready to pump up the jam.
Let’s look at March and see all of the inspiration and ideas I’ve found for you! I’ve got some goodies, along with a mic drop recipe!

Although it’s officially spring, those freezing nightly temps are still holding on around here. That means that we won’t see daffodils outdoors for a few more weeks.
No need to wail until then!!

For years, I have been baking quiches. Thing is, they’re so easy to make and you can include so many different ingredients in a quiche. I mean, seriously. Have you ever heard of a kitchen sink cookie? Well, same goes for a quiche. If there’s a veg that is close to expiring in your fridge, then by all means, add it to a quiche.
Let’s make quiche! On Cook with Brooke, I’m going to show you just how easy it is to bake a quiche, and everything you can include in the recipe, along with a video to watch!!
Are you a soup lover like me? I believe I could eat soup every day of the week. I dig it. One of my favorite soups is Chicken and Wild Rice, and believe me when I tell you that my recipe is the best one out there. It’s full of flavor and brightness with a secret ingredient that totally ups the ante on this soup recipe.
This might just be the best Chicken and Wild Rice soup you’ll ever have. And the best part about it? You made it yourself from my recipe.
Although I always love to cook and create new recipes, it’s when a holiday comes around where I really enjoy cooking. There’s a theme there and I love to coordinate the dishes to the theme of the holiday. Do you like to cook with a theme in mind? Let’s inspire each other! Here are some of my best St. Patrick’s Day recipes along with a quick how-to video!
