Steamed Clams

Ingredients
  • 2 dozen clams
  • 2 Tablespoons four
  • Water
  • 1 bottle stout beer
Instructions
  1. Place clams in a bowl and cover with water.  Add flour and stir to distribute.  Let soak for at least 5 minutes for the clams to release the accumulated sand in their shells.
  2. Rinse clams until water comes out clean.
  3. In a large sauce pan, place steamer basket on the bottom, and add stout.  Bring to boil.  Carefully add clams and cover and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Serve with melted butter for dipping.
