Growing up, I have so many fond Christmas memories, right down to remembering my favorite goodies that were given to my family each year. My Mama would display everything on a side table for us to munch on throughout the season, and one gift I always looked forward to, was a huge tin of popcorn. It had a trio of flavors – butter, carmel and cheese, and I would grab by the handfuls and chow down. So bringing this memory up to the present, I decided to create my own tin of popcorn to give as gifts to our friends and family. Here are a few popcorn flavors, with easy recipes, that I included in my tins.
A quick note, I use an air popper for all of my popcorn recipes. It keeps the popcorn light, it’s quick with no mess, and the flavors adhere to the popcorn better because there is no oil/grease. Here is the air popcorn popper that I recommend.
I love cheese popcorn, right down to licking the cheese coating right off my fingers. It may be low brow for some, but to me, I could probably eat it every day. With a mixture of butter, cheese powder and a little dry mustard, this cheese popcorn recipe will have you licking your fingers too, wanting more. This is the kind of cheese powder that I recommend. Caramel Corn is a must in the popcorn tin. I mean, seriously, it’s standard. Another easy recipe, I do want to make note that because of the sugar, it’s important to remember to turn off the oven immediately when you put it in to caramelize. Click here for the recipe.
I’ve shared this recipe before, and my Chocolate Orange Popcorn earned a spot in the popcorn tins. I make it often as a sweet treat, and it’s always a hit. Click here for the recipe.
Every Christmas season, I love to make white chocolate bark. It’s a favorite among my family and our friends, and this year I decided to see how it would taste if I combined the bark with popcorn. O. M. G. I mean, I can’t even. White Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn. Sooooo GOOD! Click here for the recipe!
All of these are relatively easy, and are the perfect treat to give especially when your time is of the essence. Even if you make just one flavor, but it in a cute popcorn box and wrap with a pretty Christmas ribbon.
Get poppin!!
