The past few days, I have been dedicated to working outside. Of course, our projects are a plenty, and I feel that I need to crank out as many things on my list as soon as possible. I don’t know if this reason is because I feel the warm weather might get ripped away, or because my project list seems to grow by the hour. But one thing I do know is that we do like to sit on our porches and entertain dear friends.
While I was scurrying about, getting ready for this weekend, I noticed that we had some chairs that looked empty.
I thought to myself “What, no pillows?! That’s strange, I have pillows everywhere.”
Sean even jokes with me that he’s not sure what we have more of; monogrammed stuff or pillows.
So I had to twirl around like Wonder Woman and make some pillows. STAT.
I had some ticking striped fabric on hand, which alone is kind of boring. So, I found these little flags, that we seem to have a bazillion of, and cut 3 off of their sticks.
I cut the fabric the size that I wanted the pillows to be, and placed the flag in the center. A quick zig zag stitch around the flag and a pat on the back for figuring out how to even do that, and I was ready to stitch the pillow together.
Zip. Zip. Put the pillow insert inside and stitched up the bottom and I was in business.
These chairs weren’t empty anymore and I have 3 more pillows to add to our inventory.
But truly on this Memorial Day, let’s never forget the men and women who lost their lives to protect ours. We may celebrate this day with beaches and bar-b-ques, but we must be mindful of our freedom.
Let freedom ring!
