For as long as I can remember, gummy bears have been my candy of choice. Not to biggest fan of chocolate, I’ve always reached for the fruity-chewy-tangy candy, often referring to it as my contraband. Storing it in the fridge for that extra chew, well….I can’t even. It’s my fave.
I stumbled across a photo of homemade gummy bears a while ago, and I finally made some time to play around with my own recipe. Since this Easter is most likely the last that I can play Easter bunny and get away with it, my goal is to make some of the candy going in to the baskets. Rosé gummy bears for the adults, grape juice gummy bears for the kiddos.
A recipe so simple to make, it consists of concentrated rosé or grape juice, powdered gelatin and sugar. The molds are readily available on Amazon, and these are the ones I used and swear by.
To make the gummy bears with grape juice, I recommend cutting the sugar by a quarter of a cup; otherwise they would be too sweet.
Rosé gummy bears would be perfect to serve at a ladies lunch, garden club party, or even just to have on hand for yourselves. And, while you’re at it, make a batch of the grape juice ones for your children’s parties, or as a sweet snack for them.
