In my opinion, the most important tool in the kitchen, is a chef’s knife. Hands down, bar none. I have owned a few and have strong opinions on all, but this one is King. Here’s why: the handle fits comfortably in the hand with its cylinder shape. When cutting, I feel good control, and preciseness. The blade stays sharp and can julienne the finest of herbs. Very important. Whenever we travel and reserve an AirBNB, I bring along this knife. That’s how important it is to my cooking.
My go-to, stir everything and scrap everything tool is my rubber spatula. I’ve had mine for 10 years and counting. I use it to stir everything from crisping up bacon, to folding in delicate beaten egg whites. I’ve tried them all, this one is Brooke’s Best Bet.
We used to go through can openers like salt through a goose. Now that I have found this can opener, it’s a whole new wold. Easy to use, my wrists aren’t screaming after I’ve opened a can, and it makes the most clean cuts. I would give this can opener 5 out of 5 stars.
There’s always those that think they don’t need a juicer, but when it really boils down to it……yeah, you do. Whether you’re juicing that lime to zest up your seltzer, or juicing citrus for morning juices, this tool is a kitchen gadget must.
I’ve had these measuring cups for 30 years. They still look like new, and I use them almost daily. I hand wash them as that is best. Time well spent to keep these 30-year-old-hard-working-gems looking like new.
Same goes for these measuring spoons too.
A multi pot is an absolute must. From boiling pasta to making soups, outside of your chef’s knife, this will be the hardest working item in your kitchen. If taken care of properly, you’ll have have this pot for a lifetime.
Though I haven’t jumped on the air frier / pressure cooker / jack of all trades cooker, I do love my slow cooker. It performs the job that I require, and that’s the fix it and forget it kind. I have a few recipes on my blog, requiring this slow cooker, but this is really all you need for your appliance requirements.
A big investment, yet a very wise one, is a Dutch oven. You’ll use this pot for everything from slow cooked soups to meatballs in sauce. This pot is a requirement for a well-oiled kitchen. Trust me.
Although you may not think you’ll use it much, I can guarantee you will. This roasting pan will be worth its weight in gold, and then some some. Buy it.

Wanna fry up something quick? This small appliance makes frying a cinch. And hey, it’s one of my favorites.
