I love to work with dried flowers because they’re always vibrant and beautiful. Here are my favorite dried flower stems for fall.
I’ve taken quite a few classes on floral arrangements, and I’ve loved and learned from each of them. I love the textures and vibrant colors that flowers bring to the table.
And that goes for dried flowers, too.
I learned that working in odd numbers when arranging flowers is the key to an even arrangement, and that texture is everything. I also have learned to there are no real rules to flower arranging, and to follow my gut. Start with a main component and build from there.
A showcase piece for the center, then adding the accoutrement from there. Different shapes and sizes, and a variety textures too, to bring life and luxury to an arrangement that’s created from all things dried. And whimsical.
My favorite. Whimsy is my bag.
So when fall comes around, I want to hold on to those vibrant colors, textures, shapes, and all that good stuff, and have a floral arrangement last for weeks. Then, when the season is over, I can still preserve the flowers and put away for next year. Dried flowers are the gift that keeps on giving, and in my opinion, who wouldn’t want that?!!
Still, I always, always have a bouquet of fresh flowers in our home, somewhere, but when fall comes around, it’s all those beautiful dried stems that I can’t resist buying and creating a gorgeous arrangement. Here are a few of my favorites for this year.
My Favorite Dried Flower Stems For Fall
Dried wheat stems. To me, wheat is the epitome of fall. It’s simple and elegant all on its own, and here, I’ve created an arrangement using 300 stems tied with a satin ribbon. It’s beautiful, no more, no less. Absolutely stems here and there can be added to an arrangement for texture, but here on its own, it’s beautiful. Find the stems here.
And the beautiful satin ribbon here.
I love to use pampas grasses. I used them here when I jazzed up a fall mum, and I’m using them again in an arrangement in our kitchen. These grasses keep year after year and always hold their shape and luster. These are a best buy.
Faux cat tales area thing of beauty. Why? Because the ones that aren’t real never bust a bunch of pollen in your house, that’s why. Although these are faux, they look totally real, and are amazing in an arrangement. These absolutely make it in the list of my favorite dried and faux stems for fall.
I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t bring up pinecones. This girl right here, loves her a pine cone, no matter what season we’re in.
Of all kinds.
So it’s only natural that I would add these said cones to my favorites list. This bag is a great variety of pinecones, and will certainly add that craved charm to your fall arrangement.
I’ve been studying and growing hydrangeas for a couple years now, and I think I’ve got a good handle on it. I was able to cut a few stems and dry them myself, but in years past, I’ve always purchased these, and I still bring these stems out every year to add to fall arrangements.
Let’s add some color! Button flowers are a pretty addition to a fall floral arrangement. This bundle is a great deal, and will display their beauty for years to come. Store them well, and they’ll add color and sass to your arrangements for many autumn seasons to come.
How about adding some dried leaves to the game. Though you can certainly walk around your own yard and pick up plenty of dried leaves, I always crave more color. The ones that fall in your yard are pretty, but they do lose their luster in a matter of days. These faux leaf stems keep their vibrancy for years and years, and would absolutely make a gorgeous statement.. Trust me on this, I’m here to speak on their behalf. Click to buy an odd number!
Look at the variations of color on this hops stem.

If you need a good basic glass vase, I’d order this one as soon as you can because vases like this always sell out. It’s a classic.
It doesn’t take a lot to make a big impact. These are just a few of my favorite dried and faux stems to create a pretty fall arrangement.
