Annnnnnnd, I’m back. Again. I seem to be fly-by-night-Brooke with this here blog and though I’m not going to bore you with the deets as to what’s taken my time away from here, I have been squeezing in some sass-a-brass projects to keep my creativity needs in check as much as I can. Truth is, as much as I’m shuffling little darlings around in the car, the thought of becoming an Uber driver has crossed my mind, but as it turns out, I happen to have some of my most creative ideas thought up while driving. Well, while driving and while in the shower. Go figure.
As you know, little projects with a huge impact are my jam and the big impact I’m sharing today is brought to you by brass tape. I remember reading about it or seeing it in some magazine or decor book I was thumbing through, so when I was mucking up the inside trim on a mirror, making a complete mess of the thing, I turned to brass tape.
A designer’s solution to dress up just about any decor or furniture piece to bring new life and, well, sass. Easy peasy to apply, the tape is forgiving yet sticky. The inside moulding of the mirror I’m referring to was dressed up by brass tape in a matter of minutes. A little shiny for the bathroom in which it was planned to hang, I brushed on a light coating of black shoe polish to antique it a little bit. All in, a project that took about 10 minutes.
From there, I was hooked. I wanted to keep taping, and I looked no further than to the right of me. There stood that butler’s pantry on wheels that was still looking a little too industrial for me. Brass tape on those handles would be the ideal chic look that cabinet needed. I put together a video for you to see exactly how to apply brass tape to your decor item.
You can buy the brass tape here. A complete budget-friendly project that turns ho-hum pieces turned completely chic. The cherry on top of the cake, if you will. Now that’s sass-a-brass.

love the idea, especially on the mirror. Will have to try it on a mirror I have!

You should try it Jean. So fun to work with and an eye catching result!

It would be great for a Brooke Astoresque library.

Too funny, but a good idea.
