There’s something magical about flowers. They’re therapy for the eyes and for the soul and they certainly bring out a smile from the heart. In my opinion, one of the best jobs to have would be to deliver flowers. Think about it – no one would be mad that you’re knocking on their door. Everyone would be happy to see you. Even in sad times, flowers are uplifting. Soothing.
My dear friend Kelly Wilkness from My Soulful Home has written the book, My Soulful Home, A Year In Flowers. A beautiful, beautiful book that delivers page after page of inspiration, floral tips, touching stories, amazing photographs and stunning floral arrangements for each month of the year. When I received her book, it was like opening the door and seeing the flower delivery person, delivering twelve months of floral arrangements to me personally.
Each chapter is loaded with tips and advice, coinciding with each month. Kelly helps you choose which container to use, and walks you through step by step, flower by flower. You can’t help but smile and be completely inspired when turning the pages and seeing the photographs. Each chapter not only has floral tips and wonderful advice, but also has complete tutorials on how you can create each month’s arrangement. Kelly also shares how you can use her arrangements and tips, and use them as a sounding board to create your very own, one of a kind floral masterpiece.
I always try to keep flowers around our home. Kelly’s book brings me fresh ideas and beautiful inspiration to create my own arrangements. I even have her book opened on the coffee table, and each day I turn to a different photograph. I mean seriously…
Kelly’s vivacious personality comes through each page of the book. She is as beautiful of a person on the inside and as she is on the outside, and her book shares the same beauty. She says “Don’t spend your life waiting for someone to send you flowers. Make your own arrangements.” I couldn’t agree with her more.
My Soulful Home, A Year In Flowers would make for a wonderful Christmas or Hanukkah gift, and you can buy the book here. A beautiful book that every flower lover needs to have!
