Sweet & Spicy Nut Mix
Ingredients
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts
- 1 cup roasted cashews
- 1 cup roasted almonds
- 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons maple sugar
- 3 Tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place cashews and almonds in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- Spread the pecan halves on half the sheet pan, and the hazelnuts on the other side. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly toasted. Remove from and immediately spoon hazelnuts on to a dish towel. Fold towel over and rub towel with hands to remove skins. Once the pecans have cooled and the skins have been removed from the hazelnuts, add to the bowl with the cashews and almonds.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, salt, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon. Stir constantly until butter is melted and flavors have blended. Pour over nut mixture and stir to coat all the nuts.
- Spread the nut mixture evenly over a parchment paper lined baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let cool and separate.
