For all of my life, I cannot recall a single New Year’s Day where I did not eat Black-Eyed peas, greens and cornbread. This is a tradition that my sweet Mama kept year after year and passed on to me.
The significance is this: On New Year’s Day, eating Black-Eyed Peas is to bring prosperity and eating greens brings wealth. Though I have not won the lottery of money, I do feel wealthy, and looking into my children’s eyes, I have proven prosperous. Though it’s a far cry to give food all the credit for wealth and prosperity, this is a time-honored tradition of goals; hope; promise.
So in keeping with this time-honored tradition, my DIY Dutchess video shows you exactly how to make Black-Eyed Peas, and I share my delicious recipe that you will want to make more often than just New Year’s Day.
Join me and watch my how-to video, and eat those Black-Eyed Peas and greens! Because really, why not?!! What do you have to lose?!!
