Savory Sausage Stuffing Bites

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups store bought stuffing I prefer Pepperidge Farm
  • 1/2 pound hot Italian sausage
  • 1/2 pound mild Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

Cranberry Mustard Dipping Sauce

  • 1 14-ounce can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 2 Tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar packed tablespoons

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine all sausage stuffing ingredients in a mixing bowl and combine with your hands.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Form 1 1/2 inch balls, either using an ice cream scoop or your hands. You should get between 34-40 sausage bites.
  • Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes or until browned on top. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Cranberry Mustard Dipping Sauce

  • Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • Whisk until sugar is dissolved and sauce is smooth.
  • Let simmer 5 minutes, then pour in a bowl. Serve warm or at room temperature.
  • Can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
