Tuna Tartare

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound fresh Ahi tuna steak
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lime zest
  • 1 Tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon wasabi powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon scallions chopped finely
  • 6 dashes hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 of a ripen avocado
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • chives for garnish

Instructions

  • Cut the tuna into 1/4 inch dice and place in a nonreactive bowl.
  • Cut the avocado into 1/4 dice and add to tuna, along with the rest of the ingredients.
  • Carefully stir to combine.
  • Allow mixture to sit in the refrigerator for at least an hour for the flavors to blend.
  • Top with chives
  • Serve on crackers or chips.
