I’m calling February the month that opened a can of worms.
Some of the worms that have spilled out are just the trials of life and home ownership. The other worms are simply me getting all ADHD on the DIY. The pipes burst in the den, and the freeloading squirrels up in the ceiling, all call for a total den room gut job. So, I’ve busied myself on a remodel and design plan; and with scraping and scrubbing an old farmhouse sink, coupled with deciding on the concrete countertop color; polishing, polishing, polishing because everything looks better shiny, and OMG if I look at that ugly wallpaper in the foyer one more time, my eyes are going to start to cross.
Self!!!
Simmer down!
Slow down and turn a blind-eye to the wall paper.
This is when the power of photography comes in to play. Fred Shaeffer is a phenomenal photographer up here in the Hudson Valley. The above photograph he took of the Mid-Hudson bridge is tranquil., and all anxiousness floats away. Ahh, serenity.
And with the decompression comes the reminder to have a little fun and not take everything so seriously. So why not throw in a little MEOW on your table setting?!! Inspiration found here.
Want to do a little something for a friend that’s expecting? Take some plain-Jane onesies and turn them into cute custom outfits with a few iron on patches and some gingham ribbon. Cloth diapers make for glam burp clothes with the addition of grosgrain.
And in other random Keeping Fed news:
The country has fallen hard for this couple, and so have I.
Spring is right around the corner, and that means spring cleaning is too. One task that should be on your list is cleaning out the dryer vent. DIY found here.
I love this stuff!
And this bread.
This simple idea has totally inspired me.
As has this outdoor kitchen plan.
Thanks for Keeping Fed everyone! Cheers to marching into March!
