Whoa Nellie! I’ve been doing some updating here on the blog, and my Keeping Fed email got lost in the technical difficulties shuffle. So, without further adieu, please enjoy all of these random thoughts, a few days late…
Some random thoughts on this rainy Saturday morning..
We had the chance to escape this past week and head to our favorite vacation spot. Two glorious days of being parked on the beach, listening to the surf, sand between our toes and breathing in that heavenly ocean breeze.
Long drives looking at beautiful homes and daydreaming.
A backyard BBQ with dear friends.
Newport, we love you so.
I was at the grocery store the other day and sneezed into my mask. It came up unexpectedly and it was loud. And kinda phlegm-y. Those around me fled as though a bomb went off. I was terribly embarrassed and I apologized profusely. I left my buggy somewhere between the produce section and seafood and raced to my car to take off my mask and clean my nose. Has this ever happened to you?
This little chicken finally started laying eggs; small ones. She’s a Polish Crested Bantam. We have five of them and we fondly refer to them as the “Hair-do’s.” You can see why. They never have a bad hair day.
Now’s a good time to buy perennial shrubs. The garden centers want to move the inventory so most perennials are on sale. Though you won’t be able to enjoy the flowering ones now, just wait for the springtime. I just bought a few freesias and had Sean plant them on a back corner of the barn. I might go back and pick up a couple hydrangeas for the side of our house. It’s bare and needs a shrub or two. Pillowy white hydrangeas will be perfect.
Speaking of planting, I’m putting together my bulb order. How about you? I’m going for a variety of tulips, and thinking of even planting a few in a deep bird bath. I’ll get back to you next spring to let you know how that turns out.
And in other news, here are a few great things I found for you to browse…..
Fabric covered pumpkins are always a fun fall craft, and I’ve been seeing toilet paper pumpkins all over Pinterest. I haven’t made one yet, and because I just now replenished our inventory, I’m a little hesitant to use TP, but since today is rainy, C and I will try our hand. I mean, how cute are these!
Speaking of pumpkins, this craft project is super cute too.
Totally digging this DIY!
I always wondered how to do this.
Yes! Thank you!
This would make for a fun holiday gift.
This painted wall looks AMAZING, but holy math Batman!
This recipe looks down right delicious!
And a beautiful home tour for the road.
Thanks for Keeping Fed everyone! Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you back here on Monday!!
Mask wearing has its challenges. So far no nasty sneezes but that tickle!
I was so embarrassed!
Hi Linda,
Lucky you. Fingers crossed no sneezes in the mask for you at all.
xo,
Brooke
Oh my gosh last week I sneezed into my mask in public! Luckily no one was too close. Strange times! Your raised beds look amazing!
It’s crazy. I still Haven’t been back to that grocery store – I make My husband go. . Raised beds are the way to go here in the Northeast – so much rock in the ground!
Hi Marie,
Thank you so much! I was so embarrassed!
