This Little Light of Her’s

Do your kids ever shoot you one of these looks?

Well, I’ve actually become accustomed to these distressed looks.  And such was the case when I brought home this lamp that I picked up from a thrift store for $4.

I had high hopes for this bad boy.  Little spray paint, a new lampshade that I’d cover with fabric, and this lamp would be off to the concert!

Or really, Caroline’s desk.

And that’s what I did.  I spray painted the base of the lamp.  Found a shade at Lowe’s that I covered with coordinating fabric.

Now this ugly duckling has turned into a swan.  Err, a pretty green and cream lamp, perfect for Caroline’s desk.  And Caroline is happy, and certainly that was my goal.  Other than the fact that she needed a lamp for her desk.
