Just because it’s Labor Day weekend doesn’t mean that grilling season is coming to an end. Around here, we grill all year long. In fact, I’ve been known to grill while watching the snow fall. Grumpy and dreaming of warmer weather, indeed, but you catch my drift.
One day recently when I went to fill the chimney with charcoal, I reached for a latex glove only to realize I was out. Not liking the charcoal feel nor texture on my hands, I had to find a substitute, and I had to find it quick.
Enter today’s Quick Tip Friday.
I looked no further than our morning newspaper that was waiting patiently on the table in the front hallway, still snug in its bag waiting to be read.
A-ha!
I slid the newspaper out of the bag, slid that bag right over my hand and carried on.
I’ve been saving our daily newspaper bags ever since, and keeping them at the ready, near the charcoal.
Not to worry about getting sooty hands.
Enjoy today’s Quick Tip Friday!

This is a great idea for reusing the annoying little plastic bag. I keep a bunch of them in my diaper bag to dispose of those stinky diapers. Thanks for this tip!
