Do you have sore muscles? Ever wonder how epsom salt can help your tomatoes grow? The value of epsom salt are many. Quick Tip Friday.
Growing up as a competitive swimmer, my muscles would ache from long, hard swim practices and extensive weight training. And my dad would always tell me to go take an epsom salt bath. Sometimes I would heed his advice, and other times I would dismiss him, but at those times where I would dismiss him, I regretted not taking that soak.
Fast forward a few years, and that swimming pool as a distant memory, the value of epsom salt was brought to my attention again. Sean’s mother, Pat, was a firm believer in the benefits of epsom salt. So much so, that she would have containers upon containers of the stuff scattered throughout her home. Turns out, she was on to something.
Enter today’s Quick Tip Friday.
Seemed any problem or ailment I had whether it was related to myself, or my home, Pat would tell me that epsom salt was the remedy.
Because of her referral, my tomato plants are hearty and plentiful.
Splinter removal is easier. (Soak in concentrated epsom salt water to pull for easier splinter removal.)
Want to add volume to your hair?

Pat told me to add equal parts of epsom salt to my conditioner and let soak for a few minutes then rinse it out. This would make my hair feel thicker. And it did!!

Lots of good information. My grandparent’s generation used epsom salts as a purgative and I remember being sick and listening to them discuss whether I needed a "dose of salts" lol

I have never really used epsom salts. My mom used to keep some around when I was a kid. I will have to try the slug-repellent use in my garden if I ever get slugs!
