The other day when I was cutting the stems off strawberries, I noticed that I was wasting a lot of the strawberry. I was cutting too much of the fruit off, just to ensure that I got all of the core removed. Hence, a lot of waste.
My wheels got to turning, and I was thinking that strawberries need a special coring utensil just like apples have. A cylinder shaped tool that only takes out the core of the fruit.
And then, I had an A-Ha moment.
Enter today’s Quick Tip Friday.
At that moment, my eyes landed on a straw, and why not give it a try. My attempt turned out to be genius.
Simply take the straw and starting at the bottom of the strawberry, push it entirely through. removing the core.
Strawberries are a delicate fruit, so the straw easily pushes through, and the diameter of the straw is the perfect size to remove the core.
I’d like to think that I’m a genius, and that all my ideas are original. But when I went to share this idea on my social media, I found that many others had the same a-ha moment. At least I’m in good company!
Enjoy today’s Quick Tip Friday!

hahah, isn’t that always the way, you think you invented something and then that crafty internet shows you different! 🙂 Even if others already noted it, you still had the good insight to think of it also! It’s such a great idea, and I’m def going to try it on my next strawberries purchase. I usually have been taking the leftover ends of them and using them for detox water but my guy is always like, ‘what are all these strawberry tops doing here?!!" haha. Thanks for sharing great tip!
