No doubt about it, fall is a busy time of the year. Well, in many cases, every month of the year is busy. But with fall comes back to school, fall sports, and in my case, taking on a couple too many DIY projects with tight deadlines. All good, exciting and down-right productive.
This past weekend, I took a break from all the excitement and let myself fall into fall. And as you know, there are two things I love to do to take away my stresses: cooking and making things pretty.
It all started with some acorns I found on an afternoon walk with the kids. I seem to have a thing for acorns and pinecones, and I can never resist the urge to pick them up and incorporate them in some sort of display. We gathered a few and the next thing I knew, that evening instead of heading off to bed, I was glittering these said acorns.
An art the boys in the house cannot seem to wrap their minds around, but us girls get it. And with these glammed up acorns led to some fall porch decorating. With some wooden crates that we got here, and a bunch of mums we got there; a few things from a bin in the attic, and our porch was, too, falling into fall.
And although Sean can’t wrap his mind around anything glitter, he sure did enjoy a calming rock in the rocking chair, on our beautiful fall porch.
