This summer has been very good to me. I embarked on a new writing journey, started cultivating new relationships, and attended a valuable bloggers conference. A wealth of information seemed to come around every corner that has my brain feeling energized and has left my hand with writer’s cramp from all the note taking.
With value comes pressure. I was gabbing with a friend of mine over the phone a couple nights ago, and she shared a quotation with me that I now have written on sticky notes all over my office, bathroom mirror and on the fridge. Paraphrased, it goes like this:
“Pressure is a privilege….a privilege of being responsible…..proving to others we have what it takes to come through for them. Pressure is what we need to achieve our greatest results.” – Billy Jean King
This quotation took my whoa is me moment and turn it into a soprano singing, breaking the glass, Memorex, I could hug Billy Jean, kind of moment. Seriously, though, holds true, no?!!
It took the pressure off of pressure. A thought-provoking quotation to live by.
Going from deep thoughts to cheery, I was honored to be the “Best Woman” in my dearest friend’s wedding. A beautiful ceremony; a beautiful setting; a beautiful day. The wedding was up in Maine, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots, and it harvests delicious ingredients to cook with as well. In honor of the lobster Maine is prevalent for, I created this recipe for Lobster Bisque. Yum-O!
Among the many new peers I met at the bloggers conference, I met Teresa whom I know will be my lifelong friend. On her blog, she shares a genius solution to keeping storage jars air tight. Is your sugar clumping? Then head on over here to find the DIY solution!
