I recently rewired a lamp, and the shade would not stay on straight; it was always caddywhompus.
Caddywhompus:
crooked, uneven, broken, backwards and sideways.
After a concrete lamp was rewired, the jazzed up lampshade was caddywhompus.
After growing extremely tired of constantly straightening out the lampshade, I set out to fix the annoyance. My solution is this week’s Quick Tip Friday.
I went to a local hardware store, and found these 1 1/4 inch rubber washers in the plumbing section of the store. With the lampshade on, I attached one rubber washer to the top of the socket of the lamp.
And just like that, in the blink of an eye, the annoyance was solved.
And that is my Quick Tip for this Friday. Keep this Quick Tip in mind. You’ll be happy you did.
