Remember this post where I wrote about how my sewing machine was so foreign to me. I wrote about how I really wanted, needed sewing lessons.
Well, I found a great teacher, Betty, and I’ve been to three lessons so far.
My main interest in learning how to sew was so I could make my own pillows. I love pillows. They make great statements, and comfy up a room, but some pillows are ridiculously expensive. “I can make those…”
Well, now at least I’m on my way.
I’ve often admired those great Pottery Barn cabled pillows but just couldn’t cough up the do rey me to buy them, mainly because I wanted to give sewing my own version a shot. So I went to Good Will and found some sweaters that I thought would make great pillows.
I took the sweaters over to Betty’s for my lesson. She helped me cut the first sweater, but after that I was on my own.
And from then, I was sewing, sewing, sewing. Or so it felt like that.
I made only three pillows, but still a huge step for me.
Pillows turned out great. And I must say that these sweaters make way better pillows!!
