Have you ever had, or do you have a few things sitting around that you want to make something of, or repurpose?
I sure do. Waaayyy too many things to be honest. My head spins sometimes because I have such big ideas and goals for each piece, and time just gets away from me. Other projects take priority.
So, when I looked at the “project room” today, stood in the doorway and pondered, I saw this really great frame that I picked up months ago at a favorite salvage shop. I bought the frame for $5 with every intention of painting it and making a chalkboard.

Well, today was its lucky day. I spray painted the frame white, and cut a piece of scrap beadboard to fit in the opening of the frame.
Then I rolled the backside of the beadboard with chalkboard paint. I rolled on two coats, letting each coat dry completely.

The ironic part about this project is that I had everything on hand I needed to complete this project. Can you stand it?! All in, this chalkboard only took me about 2 hours to complete, that’s including drying time. But if you feel the need to add in the time from when I bought the old frame, then it took 7 months.

Whether it’s two hours or 7 months, it turned out exactly how I had pictured in my mind, and it’s happily hanging in the Little Miss’s room.
