Spring is right around the corner, and that means that gardening is too. Up here in our parts of New York, we need to sow the seeds around the beginning of March, all while keeping the plants indoors until the last frost has taken place. And every year, I race to the garden center and buy lots of small pots to sow the seeds in to. That is until I had an epiphany earlier this year.
Enter today’s Quick Tip Friday.
It all started out at breakfast. I pulled a yogurt out of the fridge and it donned on me that the container is a perfect size pot for sowing seeds.
Take the label off, and poke two holes in the bottom with a screwdriver. Add the potting soil, drop in 2-3 seeds of your preference. Cover the seeds lightly with a little soil and you’re good to go.
So, don’t be so quick to throw out that yogurt container, or even a sour cream container. They make for perfect garden pots. And too, saves a little money and time from running to the garden center.
