It’s been only two weeks, and I have already needed to replant my zucchini. The plants outgrew their starter spots so quickly. My garden is coming right along, and I am so jazzed.

I have been saving fresh mushroom containers, simply because I couldn’t throw them away – I knew there would be a purpose for them to be used in one project or another.
I poked three holes in the bottom of each one and transferred three zucchini plants in each container (well, four went into one of them).

If the weather were warm enough, and there was a guarantee that we wouldn’t have any more frosty nights, then I could plant them in the ground. But, I live in New York, and today’s high is 36 degrees. So a recycled mushroom container will do the trick, at least for a little while. And, having said this, I haven’t yet built the raised beds for the garden. That too, will happen when it warms up – hopefully in a couple weeks.
But in the meantime, I am nurturing my garden, and I truly enjoy watching it grow. The other seeds have sprouted, and will get transferred soon, too. Makes me feel jolly!
