Ho-Hum Dresser Turns Hubba Hubba!

I have yet to meet an old, beat up piece of furniture I didn’t like.  The more tattered looking, the better.  Whether I find it at a tag sale, flea market or on the side of the road, chances are I’m loading it in my car faster than I can say “Bring. It. On.”

I wouldn’t be fully honest if I told you that I have a spot picked out for each piece I bring home, but for the most part, I do.  Somethings I do refinish and sell, and the loft in our barn has quite a collection of furniture that is waiting for its transformation and new home.

But forget about that collection in the barn for a minute.  My friend Linda called me the other day and told me that she had some things in her garage she was getting rid of that needed some love.  And, whenever Linda calls, I answer.  She has a love for the tattered and torn stuff just like me, so I raced over to her house and found this gem:

This dresser that has great lines, it’s made well, but has certainly seen better days.  Why, with a little help with a heat gun, some sanding, and a cheery fresh coat of paint, this dresser would fit right in, in the Little Miss’s room.

First, I took to the heat gun and removed some random gunk on the top.  Then, I sanded the dresser and drawers lightly, and pulled out my sprayer to transform this nasty and chipped charcoal grey dresser into a pink ombre beauty.  

It’s as simple as filling the canister a little over halfway with paint, adding a little water to thin it out, attaching the canister to the sprayer; connect the air hose, plug in and boom, this dresser was turning pretty in pink.

Sooooooo easy to use.  Light weight.  The Decor Sprayer comes with a long 6-foot hose, so it was easy to maneuver.  And, my time was cut down tremendously from hand painting.  Spraying each drawer took me less than five minutes.

I did have to clean the sprayer between each color change, but cleaning was a cinch too.  The sprayer comes apart in pieces to make for easy cleaning, and snaps back together in no time.

Hubba!  Hubba!  A pretty in pink beauty that looks just ducky.  Again, this just goes to show that tired and worn looking furniture deserves a second chance, and with the Wagner Studio Home Decor Paint Sprayer, it will be transformed into a new life.
