I have a new project underway, and I am beyond excited! I’m working on a new primary bedroom design, and the transformation will be epic!
Let me introduce you to Lick Paint! A paint company that is based out of the U.K. that has now launched here in the U.S. Lick is a new to the U.S. paint brand that absolutely takes the hassle out of picking paint shades. If choosing a paint color leaves you baffled and completely undecided, then turn to Lick. It has the most amazing and beautiful paint colors and wallpaper designs. I’m so honored to collaborate with Lick, and my new primary bedroom design and reveal posts are brought to you by Lick. All opinions are my own.
Although we’ve lived in the 1820 coming up on 12 years, our primary bedroom has flip flopped a couple of times. We’ve landed in the larger of the two rooms, which is also southern facing. Although I stripped the wallpaper off the walls, and painted the room what I thought at the time was a glorious navy, I grew tired of it after a week. But this happens with me more often than not, when a big commitment of color is involved. I’ve learned to stick with earth-y tones and add pops of color in with pillows and artwork. Even if I decided to paint a room a darker color, if I stick to a neutral color, then my color ADHD stays at rest.
Beside the fact that there was an elliptical in one corner, and a variety of dumbbell weights (that absolutely were never used) spread out on the floor by said elliptical, the room felt anything but relaxing. It was the antithesis of a haven, and a stepping ground for random gym stuff and a bed mixed in.
New Primary Bedroom Design With Lick Paint
Like a lot of projects that have started and have been completed around here, I lived with the home-gym-in-my-bedroom disruption for years. Other projects and kid commitments took center court, and I simply became complacent with our lack of serenity. So, when Lick reached out to me, telling me that they were launching in the U.S., and asked me to be a part of the team, I tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
I mean, SERIOUSLY!!
Through social media and YouTube, I have been a fan of Lick. So, it truly is my honor to work with such an amazing paint company on TWO room design challenges, this primary bedroom first and foremost.
Here’s My Design Board
The inspiration started with a pheasant feather. The earthy, subtle yet crisp colors are what inspired the rest of our primary bedroom design. I pulled a lovely Greige 01 color which is a perfect combination of taupe-y grey and beige. The trim will be painted in White 05 which is a an ivory tone of white. Two neutral colors that will bring calm to our bedroom. A desk and chair will be placed in front of a window, and our room will become that much dreamed about, and much deserved haven.
I’ve filmed a video for you describing the new design of the primary bedroom, along with some wicked cool features of Lick paint. I can’t wait to share the reveal, and in the meantime, here’s how all the beauty will come to be.
