Last week, I posted about how I refinished the tub and shower in the kids’ bathroom. You can read that post again here. But a shower curtain wasn’t in the picture, and that is because we didn’t have one.
I had an idea of one in my mind, but I had to make it. And that’s what I did.
My idea was to make a curtain out of grosgrain ribbon, and my thought process seemed pretty easy.
I bought a clear, heavy-duty shower curtain, along with a lot of ribbon, and I spread the curtain out on the floor to work. I arranged the ribbon in the order that I wanted to apply it to the curtain.
Then, with a hot glue gun I glued the ribbon to the top of the shower curtain, letting the remainder of each ribbon strand flow freely down the curtain.
Thinking that this project was going to be on the quick side, I received a rude awakening. All in, this project took me about 4 hours, plus or minus a few minutes to be a short order cook for the kids.
So worth it though. This curtain looks fierce! It brightens up the shower, and brings a cheerful uniqueness to the bathroom.
Another great bonus to having so many colors in the curtain – pretty much any color towels I buy for this bathroom will match. Win. Win.
