If walls could talk, great stories would be told, that is for sure.
I think about that whenever I find small random holes in our walls. I would ask the wall – what’s with all the holes?
I found a couple holes just yesterday that have been there since we’ve been in our house. No idea why I just noticed them, but when I ventured to our tool room to get the spackel, we were out. So I had to go with Plan B, which has now been promoted to my Plan A.
Enter today’s Quick Tip Friday.
The solution: A tube of toothpaste.
Squeeze a little amount on to your finger, then press in the hole(s) until full. Go over the filled hole lightly with a putty knife, then let dry.
Money saver solution too. $2-$3 for a tube of toothpaste versus $7-$12 for spackel.
Sounds pretty minty fresh to me. Now, if these walls could talk, they’d say, “look Ma, no cavities!”
Enjoy today’s Quick Tip Friday!

Perfect tip. With three boys, we always have holes showing up in the walls…and everywhere else 😉

Clever idea indeed! I haven’t thought of this before. Toothpaste hardens when dry and would really work well to fill holes on the wall.

Look Ma no cavities. in the Appalachian Mountains of the South it would be "look Ma, no teeth." Good idea Brooke.
Love Daddy.
