It’s always a benefit when a holiday lands on a Tuesday, especially the Fourth of July. I say this because it gives you a four day weekend, and in some cases a five.
High five on that!
So given that we have one extra day to plan – between the weekend and the Fourth, I’m sharing some last minute ideas and recipes to ensure you have a delicious and patriotic Fourth of July.
Starting with this table setting, it’s all about the red, white and blue, and the shower curtain is making another appearance as the tablecloth. I added some umph to plastic plates by layering them on top of cobalt charger plates, and popped in a vintage red and white splatter enamel bowl. Old and new always brings classic elegance and with the playful pops of red and the quirky salt and pepper shakers, this table is ready for patriotic fun!
These pillows are a quick craft that will have your guests wanting one for themselves. Good to display all year around, and oh so perfect for the Fourth of July. Click here for the how to.
Want to make a patriotic candy bar for the young’uns? Grab some red, white and blue candy (there’s lots to choose from!) and place in clear glass vases for the kids, and adults, to grab.
And, I’ve got to make a shout out to my favorite fruit of all time, the watermelon. My recipe for Watermelon Limeade is the perfect thirst quencher!
Cheers to a safe and happy Fourth of July!
