One of my favorite things to do while on vacation is to hunt for sea glass. I wrote about it last year as well, and I just can’t seem to get enough of the stuff. I have jars and jars of sea glass at home. It’s so beautiful to me.
And along with its beauty, it’s a little time that I can get lost in. I go out twice a day and sometimes I’m joined by Sean and the kids, other times I am alone.
I always let my thoughts soar, and when I find a really old piece, I think about what it used to be, where it came from, what was it’s past. How did it get in the water? Every once in a while I find a small piece of china. Maybe it came from an old cruise ship??
Yesterday, I was lucky enough to find a marble. In all the years that I have been hunting for sea glass, I’ve only found 3 marbles. And then I turned around and found a small red shard, also very rare to find.
I have all kinds of ideas of what to do with all this sea glass that I have found over the years. I could make a mosaic topped table; maybe have a charm or two made for my charm bracelet. But in the meantime, I love just keeping the glass in the jars, as all the jars are constant reminders of a place that is so dear to me, and a hobby I love.

Make the table! I’ve always wanted to do that Brooke! I too have tons of special orange mica shells and beach glass!
