Want to up your patriotic game for the Fourth of July? Make these pillows! Here’s how to sew easy flag pillows for Independence Day!
The past few days, I have been dedicated to working outside. Of course, our projects are a plenty, and I feel that I need to crank out as many things on my list as soon as possible. I don’t know if this reason is because I feel the warm weather might get ripped away, or because my project list seems to grow by the hour. But one thing I do know is that we do like to sit on our porches and entertain dear friends.
Even if you’ve only known me for a hot minute, you’ve already gathered that I love decorative pillows. I have them displayed on pretty much every chair and bench we have outside. To up the patriotic game, I decided to make a couple American flag pillows like the ones I saw at a craft fair a few years ago.
These pillows are easy to sew for even a non-sewing-machine-savvy gal like me.
How To Sew Easy Flag Pillows For Independence Day
I had some ticking striped fabric on hand, which alone is kind of boring. So, I found these little flags, that we seem to have a bazillion of, and cut 3 off of their sticks.
I cut the fabric the size that I wanted the pillows to be, and placed the flag in the center. A quick zig zag stitch around the flag and a pat on the back for figuring out how to even do that, and I was ready to stitch the pillow together.
Zip. Zip. Put the pillow insert inside and stitched up the bottom and I was in business.
These chairs aren’t empty anymore and I have 3 more pillows to add to our inventory.
