Sometimes, nothing beats an afternoon nap outside.
We have a hammock. The kids gave it to Sean for Father’s Day a few years back, and that hammock looks so inviting to take an afternoon snooze; rest your eyes; close them peepers.
Sean takes a nap in his hammock all the time. But when I go to lie in the hammock, my elbow or some other appendage goes through one of the holes, or better yet, when I’m trying to adjust, I flip right over onto the ground.
I don’t care for that.
So I set out on the hunt for a couch for our back patio near the fire pit, and I visited my sweet friend of mine at her antique shop. She had exactly what I wanted, but it was missing a cushion.
No problem. I’ll make one.
I cut a piece of ply wood to size. I went to the local fabric store and got a piece of five inch thick foam that measured the same size as how I needed the seat cushion to be. Then I picked out a fabric that matched well with the patio, and our back porch.
I laid the fabric down on the floor, then topped it with the foam cushion, then placed the ply wood on top of the foam. I wrapped the cushion like a present and stapled the fabric to the plywood. 10 minutes later, I had a couch cushion.
It was really that simple. Ready for business; err a nap on the back patio.
Don’t mind if I do!
