Although new years resolutions seem to be the name of the game in January, I haven’t been one to really make one and stick to it. I mean, if I do end up making one, I don’t even get to March before I have broken the rules. Because of this, I haven’t made a resolution in years, however this year is different. This year I’ve decided to make a few important goals that I can strive for and work toward throughout the year rather than immediately jump on the bandwagon and go, go, go. Coming off the holidays, I’m tired already, and thinking about immediately adding to my already hectic routine makes me downright sleepy. We all need permission to pause, and reclaim some of our lost energy, and this includes taking care of ourselves, listening to our bodies, and doing our best to eat right and exercise.
The winter months can also do a number on our psyche, with the cold and shorter days, we all could stand for a little boost. I’ll be the first to admit that I look to candy for that sugar rush to get me through, and I’ll also admit that my hips are not hiding the evidence anymore. Energy drinks are loaded with sugar, tons of caffeine, and other ingredients that I can’t pronounce, none of which are really good for you. Time to go green.
A combination of avocado, kale, green apple, spinach and coconut water doesn’t sound too much like a tasty combo, but your first sip of this smoothie will tell you otherwise. Here are the winning advantages to each of these ingredients and why this combination is your healthy energy drink solution and a delicious one to boot.
Avocados: one of the most healthy things you can put in your body, they’re loaded with inflammation reducing antioxidants, blood pressure reducing potassium, and omega-3 fatty acids which are brain healthy.
Kale: high in digestive-aiding fiber and loads of iron which in turn is great for the liver.
Green Apple: vitamin C, boosts endurance and adds some natural sweetness to the drink.
Spinach: This is where we learn from Popeye. Spinach is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, containing cancer fighting antioxidants, Vitamin A, Vitamin K, and 40% of your magnesium requirement daily.
Coconut Water: full of dietary fiber, enzymes, Vitamin C, amino acids, and potassium. **total aside, I’m not a fan of coconut water on its own, but mixed within this drink, I can’t tell it’s even in there.
This is a quick and easy smoothie recipe that can be blended up each day with a guarantee to give you that morning and / or afternoon boost that your body so desperately craves. Even the skeptics will like the taste and reap the benefits. I guess now I have to admit that all those celebrities in my USWeekly that I see drinking these things have had the right idea all along. Sigh.

Sounds delicious. I also love the container you have this stored it. It was so eye-catching And ties into the energy theme of the drink. Great job. I can’t wait to try this.
